Memorial Day Plans

I have none, I am sure one of the children will have a BBQ.  But I need to sit down and make the cards for June, I am thinking something with Red White and Blue.  BFF Dawn is really good with those colors she gets the feeling of the holiday on the card or layout.  Well who knows, plan on sitting down this weekend and create at least 25 of  the same and then another 25 in assorted cards.......Will post when finished.

Everyone have a Happy and SAFE Holiday.

God Bless,

Creating Cards for Inmates

I had a request this week from another missionary who visits the prisions in the area, and she wanted some cards.  Well this is not a simple task for sure.  Note---when sending cards to a security place you cannot use pop ups, layers of paper, no embellishments, otherwise the card must be flat.  So what is a crafter to do......of course Stamp the whole card.  Now this took a little bit of time, but I got 5 done, with a assortment of five stamps, loads of coloring, but I think they will be pleased.  Now I want a copic set lol......any old excuse to buy more stuff lol....

Rainy Weather drives crafters crazy!!!

I am just sitting today, because picking up a pen or paper would hurt too much.  I know we need the rain, but 5 days of it is doing this body some harm, lol.  I am sure my garden is just beautiful and the veggies are growing at a fast pace.  But I need some relief....ok now that I have had my pity party - Let me tell you of our newest request.

Cards for Prisioners. I have quite a few missionaries who are requesting cards for people in jail., however the restrictions stop a crafters creativity.....can't use glue dots or embellies, it must be a flat card, so I guess stamping is the answer for the prisioners.  But what words of encouragement can I use.......if you have any suggestions feel free to jump right in.

Anniversary Week all over :(

Well it was a wonderful week spent with Michael, we went to Atlantic City for three days and the sun was shining every day.  Our room had a great ocean view which I enjoyed every morning.....We ate until we could not eat anymore......Thank you seafood buffet.  Gambled a little, no did not win lol.  We just spent the time enjoying each other,.  Michael and I celebrated 45 years together, and we appreciate each and every trial and tribulation that we as a union went through.  It is why today, when I hear his key in the door I smile.

Well back to work for sure.  Over the weekend we had a church function in which a few missionaries were present, I asked do you visit the elderly - both said yes, so I now have 10 Nursing homes to supply cards to.  What a wonderful feeling to make so many smiles happen.  But the question of the day was, how do I service so many - well today I did a mass card.  These are the steps I took to create 20 cards in one day.
  1. Create your design, - I choose to stamp birthday cakes, as one missionary has quite a few birthdays coming up.  So I used the Stamps of Life Birthday Cake,
  2. Cut your base, for staming, this is where the design will go.  I used 4 x 3 in base in a cream color.
  3. Set up stamps, I used 4 blocks for this project, one to hold the cake table, and two teir of the cake and a birthday candle on top.  Stamp each base card.
  4. Coloring - I colored the stamping before I decided to add anything else
  5. Stickle, ok you know I always use some bling somewhere lol
  6. Mat base card with appropriate color
  7. Find coordinating paper to match you base and mat
  8. Stamp inside card with words, and signature on back
  9. attach all to card base and there you go.
This project took me about 4 hours, as I watched two movies while I did the card.
Will upload tomorrow.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day May 1st

To all the paper crafters out there - Happy Day!!

This weekend has been filled with world news and took me away from the studio since Sunday night, i did however get a chance to scrapbook on NSD, My daughter in law, asked me a couple of months ago, why i had not did the family Christmas Album yet.  I was too busy creating cards lol. So after church on Sunday the family was over, and I and my little follower, Collin went into the studio, put some music on and he played with his trucks and cars while I took a perfectly clean room and destoryed it......finding that one sheet of paper I knew I had.  Every now and then I would ask him what do you think about this color and he actually picked out a few sheets for me.  His mother would have a fit!!! She doesn't want him to be a paper crafter, haha....if he continues to hang around grandmom he will be, by default. rofl.
So what did I get done, a complete 8x8 album "Christmas at the Eddy's 2010" and creating a smaller verison for son and his wife.
I have been so focused on getting my card inventory up, I had forgotten the joy in seeing the finished page, the complete story once the album was finished.  It was a great feeling.
Well new stamps are out already this month - and the theme is Ice Cream Cones, it should be loads of fun creating this months card, will let you know how it turns out.
OK back to CNN to stay on top of the current World News.....
